The download of news is far too long when were connected in Edge (in the subway). It should be improved to download all the news at the same time and not only headlines (as it is the case on Cnet). Otherwise, interesting and very rich news.
App crashes every time
App hangs and crashes in iOS 9
This isnt a terrible powerful or interesting app, but it fufills a simple promise of the utility of push notifications. I check MacDailyNews obsessively, and now at a glance I now if its time to load the page. Simple, quick, efficient. The Mac way.
For those thay have in interest in AAPL ,this is a must own app.
This app is one of 4 apps I use on a daily basis. Perfect 3 minute time-filler for those of us with little time! I cant find time to read my monthly magazines, so this app keeps me in touch!!!
For a news site, it has 1) a great layout for a mobile web app, which is easy to read and with inobtrusive ads 2) push notification that keeps you up to date for the Apple news addict 3) and a reliable app that never crashes that makes me forget about the computer version of the site. I wish more news site where like this app.
One of the few apps that Ive kept. Handy and informative
It would keep sending Push alerts to my iPhone and each time id get a buzz to inform me that theres a new alert. After a while it gets so annoying! Especially during the night, if youre sleeping and all of a sudden wake up due to an alert about an unimportant Mac story. You really want to throw it away at that moment. Otherwise, if there was a way to stop the alerts, it wouldve been a good source of Mac/iPhone/iPad news & analysis.
The Mac fanboy editorializing on the Apple news is sometimes funny but more often childish and annoying. Pushing alerts about every small Apple burp and fart can soon get on your nerves.
This app is too close in functionality to the web site. Push notifications is nice though.
I like reading MacDaily on my Mac, but the experience is ruined on their iPhone App because every time they post a new article they send an annoying push notification to the iPhone which interrupts whatever you happen to be doing because it makes you think you are getting a text message.
I use this app daily but the iPad version crashes constantly...I still love MDN but I wish the iPad app worked! The iPhone version works great...
I have to say I like this app. Great stories. Its not the prettiest but hey its about content I guess. The update before this one had me all up in arms and made me remove it cause it really was kinda bad but then a few days later Im back because they fixed the issues in a hurry. Update...back to the drawing board. This app is 50/50 whether it loads on my iPad. Sorry not good enough, I still read on Flipboard.
Absolutely horrible App. Buggy, crashes or simply wont load. Should be pulled from App store
Almost never works, and crashes all the time. Its much faster to just visit the site..
This is a nice app and given time will be great for apple fans to get apple news. The review included here from another user is not correct. As a long time reader of MDN I can say they will delete personal attacks and obvious troll like behavior but they do not delete opinions just because the site does not agree. Please people. Read for yourself. This site is a great Mac news source. I love it. Thanks to MDN for the app. Keep it up.
We waited months to get this rehash? No difference in interface, but the worst thing is Sharing. Facebook will either not complete the setup, freezes or completely crashes. And where are other options like Twitter, Instapaper, Delicious, etc? For huge Mac enthusiasts who should know their stuff these guys cant seem to get the basics right!
Such a disappointing update. It didnt correct any of the original problems with the app. I am unable to log in to the app. It requires completing name and email to make a comment EVERY time I want to do that. It is extremely slow to reload. The articles list does not refresh itself automatically when new articles arrive. The list also does not refresh itself when the app is relaunched. The app appears to be constantly loading something while reading because the progress spinner is constantly visible and spinning. Even when started in landscape mode, the app opens i portrait mode and then has to rotate. How clumsy! When I refresh the articles list, it shows all articles as unread so it is not always obvious what articles Ive already read. Just too much effort to use.
