The app is unusable half of the time due to full screen apps that randomly capture the screen when reading an article. There is no way to dismiss them and at other times, the user is redirected to the App Store. With the horrible user experience on the mobile app and the inability to view the website without disabling basic pop up window blocking, it is no longer worth the trouble to view MDN content.

Please update for better resolution and add a dark mode! Also Im even willing to pay $.99 or $1.99 a year to give rid of the HORRIBLE ads you have. I understand you rely on that revenue, but its just a bad experience. I appreciate your thoughts and commentary. That $1/$2 year I wouldnt do if you didnt keep your app up to date with all the tech you report on, i.e.-3D Touch, swipe left/right for read/unread, etc...

Notifications have completely stopped since the new iOS update. Used to love getting notifications from MDN... Now they are gone and have been gone since the update. Its this way on both my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6.

Do you guys know that your app keeps crashing?

First it wont give me any story notifications or badge numbers on my iPhone 6+ even though it still does on my iPad & iPhone 5. Now it goes into a "busy" loop on my iPad 4. And having to sift through all the political diatribes is just too much - Ill just find another Apple news aggregator.

Hello? McFly? Its called landscape mode. Implement it already!

Seems that this app is now full of advertisements. Every article you open has a huge advertisement. Cant click on them to report as a problem. If this is being caused by the developer due to some problems on their end its a huge problem.

Crash & Burn.

The app now takes forever to change from one article to another. Sometimes when you switch from article to comments view, the busy icon comes on and stays on, or if it goes away the comments are blank. If you switch articles now when you get a busy icon, youll get a second busy icon (both busy icons running). Sometimes when you write a comment, itll just disappear and never post. Not a good app anymore

Every time I attempt to share an article the app crashes!

Ive been reading MDN since the iPod came out. I havent had this app crash but I could never post. In Safari its hard to find the articles through the ads and general clutter. MDN, white space is your friend! Due to MDNs ad policy I went to Adblock for iOS. Its a wonderful app but lately MDN is trying the google code that defeats a page block . Worse yet, a audio/video ad pops up in Safari and Adblock that touts Acer-Intel-Costco. Geez, Acer ads on a Mac site? There are also so many trolls on MDN that it takes the joy of trading Mac information away. MDN allows a troll-bot or something in, I suppose they like the trolls as it gets page view clicks. No need to bother with this app or visiting MDN until they clean their house. silverhawk1

I love MDN, but the app is pretty creaky at best. Why has posting comments never worked? Not in previous versions & not in this version either!

Update 10-23-15: comments and share still crash the app. Unbelievable. ------------- UPDATE 7-31-15: And the update for iOS 8 still crashes... ----------- I love Macdailynews the web site. But this app is really not cutting it, especially on the iPad. Poor formatting, really slow, unable to resume where you left off in the article list, crashes when you try to share, unable to post comments... What can I say? Perhaps you should get some clues from Pulse News?... When I use my iPad to read and research, it needs to add something to the laptop/desktop experience - typically that is speed and immediacy of access, great overview of the content available, etc. in this case, its so far from it it makes me wonder whos thinking what here?... Please try again?... 2 stars for content.

LOL you cant log back in because you MUST have a Wordpress acct and FORCED to link your blog to them! That is just plain STUPID!!! Negative 100 if we had a way of rating this.

App crashes on start on an iPad pro Seems this developer has lost the will to try to keep this app updated.

As someone said it never boots on the iPad Pro. And I dont remember it being very stable anywhere else either. Please fix this.

This update is absolute crap. The new ads are huge and get in the way. Scrolling lags and stutters. And the nested comments become almost unreadable after a few levels. Garbage - do not update.

The new App looks good but the performance has decreased. Slow to load stories and now that what we are seeing is a safari window inside the app (instead of having the stories natively in the App), there are more ads then there were before. The iAds in the App, the ads from the "safari version" of the stories we see and a new ad that I have to "slide" down to remove from view. Im not being fooled. Neither should you.

They have ruined this once excellent app by peppering it with Adware (Google) adds everywhere. It used to only have iAd banners and they werent too bad. Im not sure how Apple lets them get away with this. MDN HAS TURNED OUT TO BE JUST ANOTHER GREEDY GOOGLE LOVING (and paid) AD SITE. I wish I could undo the update. MDN STINKS AND THEY HAVE LOST MY RESPECT.

If you cant get enough of their ads and just need more, then you need to update this app asap. Now I know why MDN wanted bigger iPhones from Apple. More screen real estate for more ads.
